The 2014 Ms. Virginia Senior America Pageant was held in the Healy Auditorium of the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind in Staunton, Virginia, on Saturday afternoon, July 19, 2014. This annual event honors women who have reached the age of elegance, 60 years or better, and who best exemplify the dignity, maturity and inner beauty of all senior American women.

The contestants were judged in the areas of Philosophy of Life, talent, an evening gown competition and a personal interview with the judges.

Competing in a field of nine talented and deserving contestants, Patsy Godley of Fredericksburg, Virginia, was chosen Ms. Virginia Senior America 2014. Patsy scored high marks singing a country classic song. Patsy with her band ‘Patsy & the Country Classics’ are well known throughout Virginia for filling a ‘traditional country music’ genre niche much missed by country music lovers.

Patsy will represent Virginia later this year at the National Ms. Senior America Pageant in Atlantic City, N.J. Patsy brings a rich enthusiasm to her role as Ms. Virginia Senior America 2014.

Janis Thomas of Winchester was 1st runner-up and Eunice Appling of Waynesboro was 2nd runner-up. Jerry Reed received the 2014 Community Service Award.
